We will supply surplus food and essential products (toiletries/sanitary products etc) to people who need them and surplus stock from shops will be donated to stock the shop. People in receipt of benefits/state pension will be able to sign up to use the Community Food Hub to get items at an affordable price.. The community food hub will be run by volunteers. Emma will be busy recruiting and training volunteers and getting DBS checks done in the next few weeks. If you think you can help give her a call.
As well as helping people on low incomes to access essentials cheaply the project will also be supporting better use of waste from shops. By diverting food and essential items that would end up in landfill sites into needy communities. Watch this space for updates on developments.
